Opperman Music HallAs part of the FSU Jazz Festival, Seven Days presents Christian McBride – “the finest bassist of his generation” (PopMatters) – and his top-notch band Inside Straight.McBride’s bass playing is simply monstrous and his ability near-unlimited, which is why, for well over a decade, McBride has been the jazz bassist on call, playing with Sonny Rollins, Diana Krall, Pat Metheny, Sting, Kathleen Battle, the Roots Wynton Marsalis, Herbie Hancock and dozens more.These days, he’s leading his own ferocious acoustic-jazz band, featuring jazz greats Carl Allen (drums), Steve Wilson (sax) and Warren Wolf (vibraphone), which has been called “one of the most intoxicating, least predictable bands on the scene today” (All About Jazz).
